After visiting Kanto Lampo Waterfall, it is well worth continuing the trip to Goa Rang Reng Waterfall. Located only about 10 minutes from Kanto Lampo Waterfall, it lies in Banjar Gitgit, Babakan Village, Gianyar. The route to Goa Rang Reng Waterfall is longer and involves a steeper descent compared to the path leading to Kanto Lampo Waterfall.
Four-wheeled vehicles can be parked near the main road, while two-wheeled vehicles may proceed further to the parking area at the end of the road, just before the downhill path with dozens of steps leading to the waterfall.
As its name suggests, the main attractions of this site are twofold: the beauty of the waterfall itself and a cave known as Rang Reng Cave. The cave is designated as a place for worship. Therefore, women who are menstruating are not permitted to enter the cave. According to www.hipwee.com, local residents believe that the name “Rang Reng” originates from the cave’s multicolored appearance.
The river flowing through this area is called Tukad Cangkir, and its water comes from rivers in the Bangli region and northern Gianyar. For the Hindu community, these two water sources are considered sacred and are used for melukat (ritual purification) and ngayut ceremonies (part of the Ngaben cremation ritual) by local residents.
The flow of Tukad Cangkir cascades over terraced rock formations, forming the Goa Rang Reng Waterfall tourist attraction. Unlike Kanto Lampo Waterfall, which features tall terraced rocks, the terraces at Goa Rang Reng become wider as they descend. Visitors can enjoy the strong flow of river water, but should remain cautious as the area can be steep and slippery.
Goa Rang Reng Waterfall provides facilities for changing clothes and a designated area for storing bags. There is also a small food stall offering light snacks and warm beverages.
Enterance Fee : IDR 10.000 per person.
