Mangupura, July 11, 2025 – Welcoming the school holiday season and the surge of tourist arrivals in Bali, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia has brought a festive atmosphere to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. Holiday vibes can be felt throughout the terminal with colorful decorations carrying the “Summer Beach” theme. The installations feature a giant suitcase as a symbol of air travel, along with tropical ornaments such as coconut trees, beach umbrellas, surfboards in bright colors, wave replicas, and other tropical elements that create a fun and cheerful holiday mood. The Summer Beach decorations will be on display from June 25 to July 31, 2025.
Adding to the lively atmosphere, the decorations also showcase popular characters from Happiness Club, including Fun Cican, Tahilalats, and Dudu, inviting passengers and visitors alike to embrace the holiday season with joy and enthusiasm. These large-scale landmarks not only bring the spirit of vacation to the airport but also serve as popular photo spots for travelers, families, and friends. Many passengers, greeters, and send-offs took time to capture their special moments at the installation.
General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, explained that this special program, held during the school holiday season, is part of the airport’s customer experience initiative. “As a transit hub for tourists spending their holidays in Bali, we want to be part of their special moments. Our aim is to provide a travel experience that is not only safe and comfortable but also memorable,” he said.
He further noted that the school holiday season usually brings groups of families and leisure travelers. “Passengers come from diverse backgrounds, and all are united at the airport with the same hope of enjoying a pleasant holiday. That is why we strive to create a family-friendly journey and provide seamless service, ensuring every touchpoint from arrival to departure runs safely, efficiently, and smoothly,” Syaugi added.
To enrich the holiday experience, the airport also presented special activities for passengers, including a dance parade and a fun interactive game, the electric maze, held on July 11, 2025, at both domestic and international departure terminals. These thematic programs dedicated to passengers also reflect Ngurah Rai Airport’s commitment to supporting tourism and the creative industry. “To bring this program to life, we collaborated with local artisans and creative economy players. The products we use and the art performances are part of our spirit in supporting Bali’s tourism and economy,” Syaugi emphasized.
One passenger departing from the domestic terminal expressed appreciation for the initiative. “I think this is really cool because I’ve never seen anything like this before. It made my flying experience one of the most unique ever,” said Kai, a passenger traveling to Yogyakarta.
