Mangupura, April 14, 2025 – The 2025/1446 Hijri Eid al-Fitr long holiday has come to an end, and PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has officially closed its Eid Transportation Monitoring Post (Posko Lebaran) on Monday, April 14, 2025. Throughout its 22-day operation, from March 21 to April 11, 2025, the airport’s operations remained controlled and stable.
General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, during the closing ceremony held at the domestic arrivals terminal, stated that overall airport services during the post period ran safely, orderly, and smoothly.
“We are grateful that all aspects were well managed, from aviation security and safety to passenger services. Although there were some weather-related challenges that posed risks to flight safety, all situations were handled effectively and operations continued smoothly,” he said.
He further added, “This success could only be achieved thanks to the full support of all stakeholders, especially those at the airport who carried out their duties with dedication and professionalism. Cross-agency coordination also worked very effectively, allowing every challenge to be resolved quickly and appropriately,” Syaugi explained.
During the Eid monitoring period, Ngurah Rai Airport recorded 8,259 aircraft movements, consisting of 4,132 arrivals and 4,127 departures. Passenger traffic reached 1,381,759 people, with 703,112 arrivals and 678,647 departures. This translates to a daily average of 375 flights and 62,807 passengers throughout the Eid holiday.
For comparison, the daily average in the first quarter of 2025 (January–March) was 363 aircraft movements and 57,870 passengers, reflecting a growth of 3.42% in aircraft movements and 8.63% in passenger traffic during the Eid period.
Based on monitoring results, the highest outbound traffic before Eid occurred on March 26, 2025 (H-3) with 420 flights carrying 73,550 passengers. Meanwhile, the return peak took place toward the end of the holiday period, with 441 flights on April 5, 2025, and the highest number of passengers on April 6, 2025, reaching 80,337 people.
The five busiest routes during the Eid period were:
Jakarta (Soekarno-Hatta/Cengkareng): 1,589 flights, 247,899 passengers
Singapore: 794 flights, 161,281 passengers
Kuala Lumpur: 587 flights, 93,723 passengers
Surabaya: 511 flights, 89,589 passengers
Perth: 408 flights, 58,431 passengers
