Mangupura, March 10, 2025PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia reported that during the first two months of 2025, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport served 3,643,836 passengers, consisting of 2,250,983 international travelers and 1,392,843 domestic travelers. The airport also recorded 22,540 aircraft movements, dominated by 12,442 international flights and 10,098 domestic flights.

General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, stated that international passenger and aircraft movements showed notable growth compared to last year. “International passenger traffic grew by 11 percent, while international aircraft movements increased by 7 percent compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, domestic passenger and flight numbers declined by 9 and 11 percent respectively, which we had anticipated as February typically enters the low season,” Syaugi explained.

In more detail, during January and February, the busiest domestic route was Jakarta (Soekarno-Hatta/Cengkareng) with 697,891 passengers and 4,622 aircraft movements. The second busiest route was Surabaya, with 205,249 passengers and 1,274 flights, followed by Makassar in third place with 81,028 passengers and 567 flights.

For international routes, Singapore remained the top destination with 384,654 passengers and 2,112 aircraft movements, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 262,062 passengers on 1,719 flights. Melbourne ranked third in passenger numbers with 178,170 travelers, while Perth ranked third in aircraft movements with 1,151 flights.

During the same January–February period, a total of 1,013,700 foreign nationals (FNs) from 198 countries traveled through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. Based on data from the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Australian passport holders remained the largest group, with 238,080 travelers or 23 percent of the total. This was followed by visitors from China (103,528) and India (75,936).

Looking at traffic up to February, Syaugi expressed optimism about continued positive growth in passenger numbers. “Our target for 2025 is to serve 26.4 million passengers. We are currently preparing to add several new routes, both domestic and international. We are confident that the addition of these routes will stimulate further passenger growth at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, while also supporting tourism and the economy of Bali,” he concluded.
